Types of Care
Woodside offers 48 en-suite bedrooms arranged in three independent suites, each dedicated to specific needs/conditions. There is also an en-suite bedroom for friends/relatives.
The Elm Suite
WHO FOR: People who require end of life or palliative care. We also provide respite care in this suite.
BEDROOMS: 11, on the lower ground floor. Some have access to a central courtyard, others have their own patio. The lounge areas open out to a patio that leads to tranquil woodlands.
KEY POINTS: We have embraced end of life care standards in the form of the Liverpool Care Pathway and the Gold Standard Framework.
The Oak Suite
WHO FOR: People who need complex short to medium term nursing care. This might include people who are awaiting assessment or wish to avoid hospitalisation, ‘continuing healthcare’ for people with complex or unstable needs, and those who require respite or convalescence.
BEDROOMS: 17, on the first floor, with panoramic views across Bath.
KEY POINTS: Working with our colleagues from the NHS and Primary Care Trusts, we aim to prevent unnecessary hospital stays and admissions, and limit distress and inconvenience for prospective residents and their families.
The Birch Suite
WHO FOR: Middle to older age people who have severe and enduring medical conditions that result in long-term physical disability.
BEDROOMS: 20, on the first floor, with panoramic views across Bath.
KEY POINTS: Social contact is important for all our residents, but particularly for this group. Maintaining – or better still, improving – our residents’ abilities and independence is an important aspect of our caring commitment.
