The home, which was originally Culverhayes School, occupies a prime position at the highest point of Lymore Avenue, with spacious grounds and stunning views of Bath.

The home provides care and support for people with Dementia and/or Mental Disorder. The accommodation is arranged in three suites so that care and support can be focused to meet the varying types and levels of need of the people living in the home.

In keeping with current theories and practices relating to suitable environments for people with Dementia, the Culver and Hayes suites have been decorated to enable stimulation and orientation for the people who reside there. This has been achieved by applying different colour schemes in the distinct areas such as bedrooms, lounge spaces, dining rooms, bathrooms and toilets. In addition, special signage is also provided. The décor includes sensory boards and reminiscence themes in the pictures that embellish the suites. Therapeutic facilities include a therapeutic bath,, therapy rooms and an activities centre.

The extensive grounds have been designed to create safe and secure outdoor areas enabling residents to move freely without restriction: there is a sensory courtyard, a rose garden, a gardening patio and a walking trail that wraps around the rear part of the building.
